Our ol’ radio pal Doug Leier joins us for our 300th show!  Doug and host, Bret Amundson used to talk outdoors on the radio back in Fargo starting in the early 2000’s and have continued their discussions on topics relating to hunting and fishing over the years.  Doug is back this week to talk about what’s changed over the years, what’s in store for the CRP program, urban fishing opportunities, the deer numbers in Nodak and more. Joe Henry has also been with the show for a long time and will share his thoughts on how things have changed, plus offer a fishing report from Lake of the Woods.  And Lucas Mertens is back to talk about Devils Lake fishing right now, 4th of July plans and crop conditions.

If you want to try predator hunting, Avery Prostaffer Ben Brettingen is back from In-Depth Outdoors with a fishing report and tips for those that want to try it out.  If you want to know what it was like to travel to Arkansas for ducks, we’ll tell you.  We piled into an SUV and drove 15 hours to chase speckle belly geese, snows, mallards and more.  We did it with 4 wounded veterans and the Wounded Warrior Guide Service.  We’ll talk to some of the vets about the trip, including Todd Grewe and Tom Maher.   Dave Morse from Wounded Warriors Guide Service in Grand Forks also joins us to recap the 1st Annual WWGS Fishing Tournament on Devils Lake.

  1. Is there a convenient way to subscribe to you podcasts so I can take them with me on my IPOD when on the road to and from my hunting / fishing adventures?

      • I don’t know how they do it, but I have a subscription to FAN Outdoors from KFAN that ITunes can download automatically. It is not in the ITunes store, they just have them archived somehow on the KFAN website. I’ll bet Billy Hildebrandt would be willing to get you in touch with the folks that set it up to see how they do it.
