SJR | Week 516: What Happened at ICAST??

icast

On this week’s show, Bret Amundson and Dan Amundson recap their time down at ICAST in Orlando, Florida. They talk about the people they met, places they went and cool products they saw. They’ll even take you around the show floor and talk about some of the coolest products they found at ICAST. They also talk about how they got the opportunity to bass fish inside one of the world’s most famous amusement parks, and their first time chasing fish on the ocean.

Then Garett Svir joins the show to give us a fishing report for Otter Tail County. He talks about how the bluegill bite has been and what has posed some challenges. He also talks about a really unique bluegill he caught and how it should be measured. Garett and Bret also spend a lot of time swapping saltwater fishing stories, from almost getting fingers bit off by sharks to dropping giant tarpon.

Joe Henry also hops on the show for a bit to talk about his latest walleye fishing excursions. He recently fished a charter boat tournament on Lake Erie, who also claims to be the walleye capital of the world, even though we all know Lake of the Woods is the true walleye capital. Joe tells us how the tournament went, and also compares Lake Erie to Lake of the Woods, and why he thinks each lake is the way it is. He also previews a big event coming to Lake of the Woods in the coming days, and tells us about conditions on the big walleye factory.
