SJR | Week 513: Breaking Down New Water

On this week’s podcast, Bret Amundson and Dan Amundson are at Tazin Lake Lodge for one more week and are breaking down some new water They talk about how hard it is to leave and what’s up next, including a trip to Florida and maybe a few other fishing trips this summer. Then they give Joe Henry a call and he fills us in on all things Lake of the Woods. Joe tells us about the water levels and what to do during the summer months to catch big walleyes.

Then we hop in the boat with hall of famer Steve Pennaz and Garmin’s own Danny Thompson as they break down new water. Bret talks to them about their time at Tazin Lake Lodge filming a few episodes of Lake Commandos. The two talk about chasing these fish of a lifetime and how it went. Can they catch a trophy Laker while on the air?

Danny also teases some new Garmin technology they got to try out while filming. He can’t tell us too much until next week, but it’s pretty darn cool. They also chat about using Livescope on 40 pound Lake Trout and how it helps when breaking down new water.
