On this week’s podcast, Bret Amundson and Dan Amundson are still at Tazin Lake Lodge chasing around giant lake trout. Even though they’re far away, they still check in to find out how walleye fishing is in Minnesota. Erik Osberg from Otter Tail Lakes Country has some tips for catching summer walleyes in weeds, and Joe Henry from Lake of the Woods Tourism talks about conditions at the Walleye Capital of the World and how his recent shoot with Larry Smith went.
Dena Vick from King Eider Communications joins next from the water to talk about her experience at Tazin Lake. She talks about some of the giant lake trout she caught. She also previews what to expect from ICAST and gives us a few hints as to what new products might be coming out. Sounds like there are some pretty cool things that are going to be announced at ICAST this year. She also talks about some of the other adventures she’ll be going on this year after Tazin.
Then we sit down in the boat with the Technological Angler, Dr Jason Halfen. We learn exactly what Jason does and how he can help you become a better angler with your electronics. Then he talks about what he thinks of Tazin Lake and how his trip went. Jason also talks about the impact of new technology on fishing and what we need to do as anglers to preserve the sport we love for future generations.
