SJR | Week 493: Ice Camp

On this week’s show, we’re coming to you from River Bend Resort on Lake of the Woods! We’re here with the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) to do some ice fishing with new St Croix Rods and Al’s Goldfish Lure Company jigs. Mark Smith tells us about AGLOW and why events like these are important for the outdoor industry.
Then Savannah Stenlund from St Croix talks about the rods we used and what makes them special. Karen Lutto and Tom Peterson from Al’s Goldfish Lure Co talk about what jigs worked for us. Then we talk to Paul Johnson and Alex Peterson from River Bend about how the weather impacts their equipment and fishing, and Joe Henry gives us a Lake of the Woods fishing report and more insight as to how hard running a resort and fish houses can be.
Bret Amundson and Dan Amundson kick off the show by talking about possible prostitutes in ice fishing shanties in Ohio, a strange bill introduced about life jackets and Native Americans, and wolves being reinstated on the Endangered Species list.
