GAYLORD, Mich — Sporting Journal Radio host Bret Amundson took home 11 awards at the 2021 Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers conference at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan. Amundson took four first-place awards, five second-place awards, one third-place award and a Best-in-Show award.
Six Sporting Journal Radio podcasts won awards. These episodes include: “Will Some Canadian Resorts Open,” (1st Place) “Proposed Changes to Pheasant Season in South Dakota,” (1st Place) “How to Attract New Hunters and Anglers,” (1st Place) “New Border Rules for the Northwest Angle,” (2nd Place) “The Struggle With Lyme Disease,” (2nd Place) and “What Happens With Our Wolves Now.” (2nd Place) All are linked below.
Amundson also won awards for his work with Prairie Sportsman and Raising Tiny along with this photograph:

Kettle River Rafting won a 1st place and Maplewood Muskies won a 2nd.
The AGLOW Conference runs through September 16th. Next year’s conference will be held in Branson, MO.
