Good numbers of trophy walleyes for pictures. Most are drifting with spinners and bottom bouncers using hammered gold or orange blades tipped with leeches or crawlers in 18-22 feet. Those jigging are hitting areas of 27-33 feet using gold or bubblegum with frozen shiners. Down rigging and trollers doing well 28-30 or 7-9 feet, trolling at 2 1/2 mph. Areas in front of Pine Island, the Morris Point gap, Zippel Bay jetty, or Long Point best on the south end. Angler going across the lake are hitting reefs over Little Oak or the West Bar of Garden Island.
Up at the NW Angle, strong walleye fishing continues fishing island points in 22-27 feet over mud. In Ontario waters, try 15-24 feet on points and reefs. Crappie fishing good in deep water. Muskie fishing has been productive over rock areas or casting from docks using flashy spoons. More info at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com
