Minnesota Veterans were honored recently with more public hunting land in Wright and Stearns County. Over 600 acres south of Clearwater make up a new “WMA” called Veterans State Wildlife Management Area. Restored native prairie, woods, sloughs and the Clearwater River run through this area.
Pheasants Forever’s “Build A Wildlife Area” program along with the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage fund contributed to make this possible.
Minnesota Sporting Journal’s Melissa Sandquist is a part of Wright County Chapter of Pheasants Forever and took pictures at the dedication on July 24th. To learn more, read the press release from Pheasants Forever here.
