So tell me if I am in the wrong!? What’s the best way to get a free pass to head out and do a little scouting the weekend before the opener? You take the lady that’s working the ticket counter with you! Yeah, So I may have had some ulterior motives when I asked Sara if she wanted to take a vacation out to the ND Badlands, something with a nice rack…..and hooves…Bucks! Either way, she was pretty stoked about heading out and doing some “hiking” (Scouting)  too. Well, I guess she wants to play Bully Pulpit, (poor me, right?) who am I to say no! I have never had the chance to hunt the badlands, or for that fact, spent more than a few hours roaming around. It’s going to be a whole new experience for me. I was told I would need a few things to get the job done out there. Since you can actually see miles, I need something I could see for miles with. Hence the package that came in the mail today just in time, a new spotting scope! It’s just a inexpensive one but according to the reviews, it was the best for the low cost. It’s a Celestron Ultima 80, 20-60x80mm. I busted it out last night around 7pm, so the lighting was still good but I am curious to see how it performs in low light conditions.  It worked quite well, very clear and seemed like it was built well. I’m excited to put it to the test this weekend in Cowboy Country! Scope box Spotting Scope I will also be packing along the Vortex Diamondback binoculars, which have been awesome, and in my opinion stand up to some of the Nikon ProStaff, and mid-range Leupolds. I’ll be off the interwebs for a few. So make sure to get out to Game Fair and stop by the Minnesota Sporting Journal booth, say hola to Bret, grab a copy of the magazine, talk Minnesota outdoors, and rub it in because he isn’t in the badlands! The weather is going to be awesome, just hope it’s not going to be an oven like out in Medora! Screen Shot 2013-08-14 at 10.28.23 PM Also you’re not going to want to miss all of the awesome deals at the Kruger Farms tent on Avery Outdoors products & Greehead Gear! Hint Hint….Ask them about the Factory Second Fullbody Honkers! I’m pretty sure this saying fits exactly how I am feeling right now! Until Next time…Adventure is out there! Adventure is out there
