A few of the sights that I was able to take in during my weekend in Marshall captured the type of art that I would go see in an art gallery. No offense meant if you are an art aficionado that prefers abstract paintings, I’m just more of a finger paint kind of guy.
Unless it involves outdoor scenery of course.

I was fortunate enough to spend a few minutes at the James Meger booth. Unfortunately Meger passed away last year. An article about him written by Dennis Anderson is here.
Friends of the family, Tim and Ken Kurtz are representing Meger’s art and carried guns on the opener that once belonged to him. They soon will be handling the transaction that will put a Meger print on my wall.

I also had a chance to witness a family hunt 8 guns strong, featuring uncles, grandfathers, dads and children. Seeing kids knock a cackling rooster out of the sky is another form of art that everyone should enjoy.

Here are some other photos from opening weekend in Marshall, MN.
